Accessibility Statement
The Three Horseshoes is committed to making its website accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of disability, assistive technology or browsing method.
1. Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This means we work to make our website:
- Perceivable — information and user interface components are presentable in ways all users can perceive.
- Operable — all functionality is available from a keyboard and does not require precise mouse movements.
- Understandable — content is readable and predictable, and we help users avoid and correct mistakes.
- Robust — content can be reliably interpreted by a wide variety of assistive technologies.
2. What we have done
To support accessibility, this website:
- Uses semantic HTML elements (headings, landmarks, lists, navigation) to provide meaningful structure.
- Provides descriptive alt text on all meaningful images.
- Uses sufficient colour contrast between text and backgrounds.
- Supports keyboard navigation throughout, including all forms and interactive elements.
- Uses visible focus indicators so keyboard users can see where they are on the page.
- Labels all form inputs clearly and associates labels programmatically.
- Uses ARIA attributes where appropriate to support screen readers.
- Is responsive and works on a range of screen sizes and devices.
3. Known limitations
We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:
- Embedded Google Maps — the map on our Find Us page is provided by Google and may not be fully accessible to all screen reader users. A text address and directions link are provided as an alternative.
- Third-party content — some content provided by third-party services may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We work with providers to improve this where possible.
4. Visiting us in person
We are committed to making The Three Horseshoes welcoming to all guests. If you have specific accessibility requirements for your visit — such as step-free access, seating arrangements or any other needs — please contact us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.
5. Feedback and contact
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you experience any barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us:
- Email: contact@three-horseshoes.com
- Post: The Three Horseshoes, 102 Norton Road, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 1AG
We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 working days.
6. Enforcement
If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
7. Technical information
This website is built with React and rendered server-side. It uses semantic HTML5, ARIA landmarks and Tailwind CSS. It has been tested in modern versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge, and with keyboard-only navigation.
8. Changes to this statement
We review this accessibility statement regularly and update it when we make significant changes to the website. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
